So You Want To Color?

Permanent vs. Semi-Permanent

What is the difference?

You can’t get BOTH out of one box!  Let a professional help you choose the best color for your skin tone and your life! Sometimes what you see and what is real are two very different things. Your heritage will cause a color to behave differently. There is absolutely no way that one box color can behave the same on multiple varieties of hair and heads!

Together with your stylist, you can devise a plan of WHY you want to color. From there your stylist can determine HOW to achieve your desired look!  An experienced colorist will take the time to consult and ask plenty of questions BEFORE they begin the process.  Did you know that your lifestyle and the medicines you take can affect the outcome and longevity of your color!

“Are you covering grey?

Do you want to change color?

Do you want to change tone?

What is the difference?

How to you care for your hair at home?

What products do you use? Will you use?  Won’t you use?”

These are the types of questions you need to ask yourself before you consider a semi-permanent or permanent hair color.

  • Semi-Permanent hair color can stain grey, not create roots and be a fun way to try a color or tone. It is non-committal. Semi-permanent hair colors will gradually wash out in approximately 6-8 weeks.
  • Permanent hair colors will give the best coverage for grey, will create roots and offer less in the way of quick change.

A professional colorist will use both types of color to create the most desirable result, lasting for the longest time (besides the new hair /regrowth) for YOUR lifestyle. Our amazing staff at Nova SalonSpa will take the time to go over in detail your desired look and consult with you on how the process works. You will always be satisfied with our results! We are conveniently located at 595 Chickering Road in North Andover MA and are available to you Monday-Saturday!
